Kaba-zaiku x Odate Magewappa - Tray kasanegasane

This collaboration of Kaba-zaiku and Magewappa, which are two of the main crafting traditions in Akita, gives a new form to this traditional piece. 

The two colors come from cherry bark and Akita cedar. Their contrast highlights the Kaba-zaiku’s special appeal.

The base of the tray is made of Magewappa, which is wrapped with cherry bark. Its cherry bark highlights serve a practical purpose as handles. 

The piece carries an airy visualistic impression.
