Material characteristics
Striated ironwood
This wood is obtained from ironwood, one of the three most prized exotic woods along with ebony and rosewood. It undergoes a finishing process that removes the surface colouring, bringing out the characteristic striated grain. Characterised by a dark brown surface, it has a striated pattern formed by slightly lighter golden veins. It is an extraordinarily durable and rot-resistant wood, offering excellent preservation properties.
Tiger's eye
Named for its resemblance to a tiger's eye due to the reflection of light, tiger's eye was revered in ancient Egypt as a “sacred stone that brings good fortune”. It is said to increase financial and professional luck, helping to fulfil one's aspirations.
