Kyogen is a spoken theatre based on dialogue. It does not use large-scale sets and expresses everything through words and gestures. The main characteristic of kyogen is laughter. Using the everyday life of ordinary people in the Middle Ages and stories as its subject matter, kyogen takes a deft look at human behaviour and essence and transforms it into broad ‘laughter’ or ‘humour’.

Noh mask, Noh theatre is Japanese translational theatre, whose actors wear Noh masks. 
The Noh masks made by Master Kamei are not only works of art, they are carved as active masks used on the Noh stage.
