From Masuya, which has been manufacturing and selling only wooden Masu since 1950.
Masu has been a part of our Japanese life for 1,300 years.

Masu were used in the past as measuring instruments and tools for paying tribute, and in modern times they are often used as drinking vessels, as souvenirs for celebrations and as novelties and goods at events.

This is the smallest sanshaku Masu (50 ml). This is the smallest of the standard Masu sizes. It is recommended for those who want to enjoy a little sake or for those who want to drink more than once.
In addition to Sake Masu, some people use it as a DIY needle holder for sewing tools or as a small container for small items.

All Masuya Masu are made from Japanese hinokiwood.(Japanese cypress)

The timber used to make the Masu is made from scraps of construction timber used when building houses. The wood is not logged to make the Masu, but is part of a cycle of reforestation by using timber that has limited use in the first place.
