This piece is a collaboration of two traditional art forms native to Akita Prefecture: Kaba-zaiku and Magewappa. Magewappa is made of Akita cedar produced in Odate. When you use this tea caddy, you can experience the unique feeling of Kaba-zaiku, as well as the beautiful contrast between the cherry bark and Akita cedar. Its shape has an appealing elliptical curve which fits smoothly in your hands, and a unique, diagonal double structure of Magewappa wrapped with cherry bark. The shape and harmony of two art forms in this tea caddy is truly unique.
