Urushi Card Case: "Accumulation of Time"
A deep, earthy tone inspired by the rich patina of wood and leather aged over many years.
Urushi (Japanese Lacquer) is a natural sap harvested from the lacquer tree. Used in Japan since the Jomon period, it is applied to tableware and furniture to provide exceptional durability, water resistance, and antibacterial properties. As a cornerstone of Japanese traditional craftsmanship, Urushi is a material that evolves with time; the more it is used, the more it develops a deep, unique luster. Its high protective power, combined with natural antifungal and bactericidal effects, prevents corrosion and mold, allowing wooden vessels and structures to last for decades—or in some cases, over a century.
We are proud to introduce a beautiful card case finished with Urushi by the renowned Japanese lacquer artist, Junya Kirimoto.
