A single-strand prayer bead for men, suitable for use regardless of religious denomination.

Tettōboku (Tagayasan) is a precious wood named for its properties, which are ‘heavy and hard like an iron sword’. One of the ‘Three Great Precious Woods of Tang’, along with ebony and rosewood, it is characterised by its hardness, strength and beautiful dark brown colour with light streaks. It is used for furniture, Buddhist altars, pillars and high-quality chopsticks, but is now a very rare wood.
The tassels are made from high-quality pure silk cord.
This classic product is handmade by skilled rosary craftsmen in Kyoto.

Material characteristics
Tettoboku
Along with ebony and rosewood, it is one of the three most valuable exotic woods. With a dense texture and exceptional hardness, it has been given the characters “iron” and “knife” because it is described as “similar to an iron blade”. Tettoboku excels in terms of durability and preservation, being a wood that is resistant to deterioration. It is mainly used for decorative purposes such as furniture, Buddhist altars, rosaries and architectural materials.
