This bracelet features the “Awaji knot” from the art of mizuhiki cord work.
The ‘Awaji knot’ symbolises the desire for a lasting relationship, as its left and right loops bind more tightly the more the ends are pulled. It has therefore been widely used in celebratory occasions. Furthermore, as it cannot be easily untied once tied, it also symbolises an unopened seal and acts as an amulet against evil spirits.
This knot embodies the essence of traditional Japanese water-drawn ribbon while avoiding excessive formality, its rhythmic curves possessing a certain charm.
Paired with simple ensembles, the knot's character stands out, creating a vibrant accent.
It is a free size that can be adjusted slightly to fit different wrist sizes.
